VoIP: What is it?

A simple question yet many people still don’t know about what VOIP is.  VOIP is referred to as Voice Over Internet Protocol, which enables you to make and receive phone calls with the help from your Internet.  There are millions of people out there that do use VOIP service, and do like using the service because they are benefiting from every aspect of it.
First way that people are benefiting from VOIP is the money they are saving from VOIP.  Traditional phone line service will give you a hard time by charging you extra and try to rip you off.  With VOIP service, you choose the plan you want, you choose the minutes, and you decide how to get things your way.  Saving money with VOIP just couldn’t get any easier.  With traditional phone line service, you can pay $29.99 per month, for getting limited amount of minutes and limited features, but with VOIP, you can pay $15.99 per month, get high amounts of reliable minutes, and limitless features.
Second way that people seem to benefit from VOIP is the fact that you get FREE local calls, FREE long distance calls and very cheap international calling rates.  With traditional phone line service, you usually have to pay for long distance calls, as well as very expensive international calling rates, but not with VOIP.  VOIP gives you the flexibility to an extent that you are saving money from all ends.
Third way that you would benefit from VOIP is the features provided to you, features that you would not normally see in traditional phone line service.  Some features that I am talking about are caller-id, call forwarding, voicemail (via phone or e-mail available), office/home/cell extensions available, call tracking (certain plans), conference calling, automated attendant, and much more.  These features are available to you 24/7/365, and some of these you will never see in traditional phone line service and that is what makes VOIP stand out much more.
Fourth way that you could benefit from VOIP is the flexibility of types of VOIP to choose from.  VOIP offers three types:  cable company VOIP, hardware VOIP and software VOIP.  Cable Company VOIP offers the highest level of VOIP service, including best voice clarity and what not, but it only works best with certain types of Internet connections, such as Cable company connection, etc.  Hardware VOIP is when you just obtain a ATA Adapter from your VOIP service provider and hook it up between your Internet Modem and you are ready to go.  For the software VOIP, you have all of your controls, features, and what not available to you online.
